| 英文描述 | This is a contagious disease of young and old chickens; primarily ones reared on floors. Caused by CAMPYLOBACTOR JEJUNI and characterized by low mortality and high morbidity. Chickens are the primary species affected although the organism also is isolated from wild birds. The primary lesion is an enlarged, discolored liver with small yellowish stellate foci. These are observed in less than 10% of the cases. Chronic cases may show induration and atrophy of the liver, enlarged kidneys, and hydropericardium. Dx by history, lesions, serology (agglutination and complement-fixation), and isolation of the organism. |
